eCharging is a service to allow law enforcement, prosecutors and courts to electronically prepare and transmit charging documents with each other. eCharging also allows DWI administrative forms to be transmitted to Driver and Vehicle Services in the Department of Public Safety. eCharging enables automated routing, temporary retention, filing, and printing on demand for criminal complaints, tab charges, citations, and DWI administrative forms.
Winona County is working with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to develop eCharging services throughout the County. Training and planning will begin in September of 2011 with the hopes to have eCharging fully operational by November 2011.
