| Blueprint for Safety Program |
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety- Office of Justice Programs recently awarded Winona County $94,915.00 to implement the Blueprint for Safety Program. The Winona Blueprint for Safety Program is a project developed to adopt and implement the St. Paul Blueprint for Safety Program to Winona County. This program will effectuate a county-wide paradigm shift and produce an evidenced-based method of addressing domestic violence cases which will have, as the ultimate goal, improving the outcomes for victims of domestic violence. The program will use an interagency approach to draw attention to the context and severity of each case, along with providing continuous engagement with victims and offenders. It will also focus on establishing sure and swift consequences for offenders and act to reduce unintended consequences and the disparity of impact on victims and offenders.
