The Adult Diversion Program was developed by the Courts Committee’s Adult Diversion Workgroup. Working in conjunction with the Winona County Attorney’s Office, the diversion program aims to provide an alternative to the traditional court process and a criminal conviction with an end goal of reducing the rate of recidivism amount the program’s participants. The Diversion Program will not only provide intervention programming to its participants, but it will also promote restitution to victims and decrease costs and caseload burdens on district courts and the criminal justice system.
